It all starts in Port Elizabeth (Nelson Mandela Bay): This area is becoming known as one of the major hot spots for the Sardine Run by international photographers and filming companies including National Geographic.
 
Diving: In the event that there is not much Sardine Run action, there are excellent dive sites in Port Elizabeth where you are virtually guaranteed to dive with ragged-tooth sharks (also known as sand tigers), as well as plentiful other marine life.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Port Elizabeth and transfer to hotel. Meet up in the late afternoon for a full expedition briefing and to meet the crew. Dinner in the evening will be at a local restaurant.
 
Day 2 - 9: Spend 8 days out at sea looking for Sardine Run action. Daily Itinerary: After breakfast transfer to the launch site where you will kit up, load the boat (8m semi-rigit RIB) and prepare for a full day out at sea. Refreshments and lunch is provided on the boat. We use a combination of aerial information, local spotters, fishermen & ocean users in the area to locate information regarding Sardine Run action. During the day, there will be to opportunity to enjoy a dive on one of the numerous dive sites in the hope to see the Ragged Tooth sharks and other rich marine life. Return at approx 3pm and transfer back to the hotel enjoying the beachfront or taking part in optional activities e.g. additional diving, kayaking, cultural activities, shopping etc. Beach Walk & Picnic: Weather depending we will have sundowners and snacks on the beach enjoying a spectacular South African sunset.
 
Day 10: Addo / Schotia Full Day Excursion 09h00 – 14h00: Transfer to Addo Elephant National Park. Rest room and curio shop stop. Guided tour through Addo Elephant Park in a closed vehicle. Here you will look for elephants, buffalo and other antelopes. Lunch will be had at 13h00.
 
14h45: Check in at Schotia HQ Office – sign indemnity and receive itinerary. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served on arrival.
 
15h00: Commence with guided game drive. Here you can expect to see Giraffe, Rhino, Zebra, Ostrich and numerous antelope that roam around Schotia.
 
16h30: Refreshments and toilet Stop
 
16h45: Looking for Lions. Rangers look for Hippo and nocturnal animals.
19H00: Return to the Lapa for a scrumptious buffet dinner followed by desert, tea and coffee.
 
20h45: Depart from the lapa, enjoy another 10-15 mins night viewing as far as the side entrance gate to Schotia. Return to hotel.
 
Day 11: Check out of hotel and transfer to airport for flight home.
